Michael is the managing partner of the practice and has 20 plus years experience assisting small owner managed businesses in a variety of industries, managing the challenges of growth, cash flow and organisational change. Michael was educated at Kilkelly NS and later at St Louis Secondary School in Kiltimagh, Co. Mayo before studying Business at the Galway Campus of the GMIT. Michael qualified with a Diploma in Business Studies (accounting) and immediately put the qualification to work. Michael has worked in a number of accountancy practices in Galway & Mayo before establishing Michael O’Grady & Co in 1998. Michael is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and a member of the Association of Compliance Officers in Ireland, and a Certified Trainer with the Irish League of Credit Unions.
Stephen is head of Audit & Assurance services and has 12 years of public practice experience. Stephen was educated at Scariff Community College before embarking on a course of study with the Institute of Certified Public Accountants with whom he qualified as a member in 2006. Stephen specialises in accounting, auditing and IT information systems for clients in the manufacturing, banking and service sectors.
Max manages our SME & Co-operative department and joined the practice in 2011 having gained six years professional accounting experience in a medium size accountancy practice. Max has been a key resource in the development of the small business, agri-business and Co-operative sector within the practice. Focussed on helping his clients meet their growth objectives, Max is continuously involved in their initiatives with respect to establishing successful business strategies. Max was educated at Gort Community School, Gort, Co. Galway, and continued his academic education with Limerick Institute of Technology and the Institute of Public Administration where he graduated with an honours Bachelor’s Degree in Business. Max is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. He also holds a Certificate in Agriculture (knowledge in farming business and all agricultural sectors). Max is a member of the “Wild Swan” Theatre Company having travelled with the group to San Francisco in 2011 to perform in the Theatre’s production of “Wake in the West”.
Breeda is the practice’s marketing manager and has over 15 years of managerial experience in both the financial and FMCG sectors, and oversees the planning and development of the practice’s marketing strategy. A graduate of Letterkenny IT with a Business Diploma, Breeda also achieved a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from Portobello College, Dublin. Breeda is a past board member of Kilcolgan Educate Together and was a keen hockey player having represented Seamount College.
